Services
Fillings
Teeth with cavities may be treated with composite (white fillings), amalgam, gold, or porcelain. Depending on the condition of the tooth, we would review the best options with you.
Crowns
When teeth become discolored and broken down from decay or trauma, crowns can restore the esthetics and functionality of your smile. Crowns (also called ‘caps’) are made of porcelain, gold, or a combination of the two materials.
Bridges
Spaces resulting from missing teeth can result in problems with chewing. Other teeth adjacent to the spacemay slowly shift out of position and this can affect the way your teeth fit together. Missing teeth can be replaced with a fixed bridge providing there are healthy teeth on both sides of the space for support.
Dental implants
Dental implants offer another solution to replacing either a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth.Dental implants function just like your own teeth, and can often eliminate the need for dentures.
Cosmetic dentistry
Veneers
Veneers are thin porcelain facings that are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are indicated for teeth that are discolored, chipped, or slightly misaligned. The result is an enhanced smile with improved colour, size, and shape of teeth.
Bleaching
Whitening your teeth can really brighten your smile. We offer custom bleach trays that you can wear in the comfort of your home.
Root canal therapy
Root canal therapy is a procedure that involves removal of the nerve tissue from inside the tooth. The nerve of a tooth may become inflamed, and be sensitive to temperature or have pain when biting. This may be caused by deep decay, cracks in the teeth, trauma, or even just from normal everyday wear and tear. Root canal therapy eliminates the diseased nerve and is an alternative to extraction when a tooth becomes infected.
Complete and partial dentures
Dentures are indicated if there are several missing teeth and unable to do fixed bridge work. If dentures become loose due to bone loss, dental implants may be placed so that the denture clips over top of the implants. This will make the denture more secure and comfortable.
Dental cleanings
Plaque is a sticky film containing bacteria that forms on teeth and gums. If not removed, it hardens to form tartar or calculus. The bacteria in plaque and calculus can cause tissue inflammation (gingivitis), and if not resolved, will eventually lead to bone loss and even tooth loss (periodontal disease). Regular cleanings are essential to maintaining healthy teeth, gums, and supporting bone. A thorough assessment is done on each individual to determine how frequently one should have their teeth cleaned. Regular check ups will also detect problems early, before they become large problems. We have two dental hygienists to help us maintain your teeth and gums.
Periodontal (Gum) Surgery
If there is significant gum recession, surgery may be indicated to cover the exposed roots and help prevent tissues from receding further. We measure your gums regularly, and will discuss this option with you should the need arise.
Dental emergencies
For patients of record or referrals, we will do our best to see patients the same day for dental emergencies.
