Who We Are

The US dental market knows KaVo primarily for their handpieces. And with good reason. KaVo’s cellular optic high speeds are rated “best of class” by the largest independent testing groups – REALITY and the Dental Advisor. In fact, KaVo high speeds are the only ones with ADA’s Seal of Acceptance and the first preference of the majority of U.S. dentists.

But KaVo is much more than handpieces. Actually, we are one of the top three manufacturers of dental equipment in the world. Employing more than 3,500 people in over 60 countries, KaVo is one of the recognized leaders in the global dental marketplace.

Beginning in 1909, KaVo has built a legacy of introducing innovative high tech equipment including chairs, cabinets, imaging systems, laboratory equipment, diagnostics, lasers, handpieces, and more. Over 1600 patents are testament to KaVo’s relentless pursuit of innovation.

In 1971, KaVo cautiously introduced products to the U.S. market but only after it was clearly determined that U.S. dentists wanted products with specific features. Obviously, KaVo could not just import a product that was being accepted in other countries around the world.

In recent years, great strides in new product development have been made by designing and building products specifically for the U.S. dentist. This process is accomplished after completion of extensive research with dental focus groups, surveys, and dealer groups around the country. Their input and feedback are essential to our progress.

All of KaVo’s products are clinically proven with installations in over 500 dental schools throughout the world. And while the KaVo approach has always been clinically oriented, with outstanding product technology, we work with and service people; customers who deserve a network of support and personalized service.
